Legal Sexual Rights...

Alright, so I'm presenting you all with a question I'd like to answer, but I'm not really sure how. My little cousin whom I've always been close to is 15, and is currently going out and having sex with a 20-year-old friend of mine, who she has been with for a little over a year now. Now I know that 15-year-olds shouldn't really be having sex yet, but who am I to talk? What they chose to do doesn't involve me. Today, she read an article about a gay 18-year-old male, who had sex (WITH consent) with a gay 15-year-old male. Now by simply showing sexual attraction to one another, the 18-year-old got sentenced 17 years in prison. Who would of thought this could happen for such a cause? Anyway, in the article, it said that the 18-year-old got sentenced both because the 15-year-old was a minor, and because they engaged in homosexual acts. The article also stated that had the 15-year-old been a female, the 18-year-old male would have only gotten 2 years in prison. This concerned my cousin a lot, not only because this could be a possible scenario for her, but also because her and my friend (her boyfriend) love each other very much. So, now that you've got the facts, I was wondering if any of you knew the legal age for sexual intercourse was, with consent. I mean, I'm not sure how long they've been intimate for, but I know that they're most likely not gonna stop, just like that.

Anyone have any opinions, views, stats, or useful information I could share with her? I gave her the link to the site, so she's going to come check it out soon, so any information is greatly appreciated by her. Also, thanks for helping me out, seeing as I can't always play "Ask And I'll Answer".

soo i guess it's only legal if she lives in hawaii..

In Australia it is 16...

The guy can only be charged with statutory rape, if literally, the girl has not given the guy consent, im not too sure that he would get a jail sentence, though i am pretty sure, with your cousin only being 15 and all, it is most likely not legal for a girl of that age to have sex...

I don't know alot about this, but just go to a search site and look at  legal sexual rights in Canada or something of the sort, you will most probably find some interesting facts about it there...  

Gay men to have sex in aus. legal age = 18
Lesbian women to have sex in aus. legal age = 16
